Youth Shaping the Workplace of the Future
Alan Ritchie Over the next 10 years, the Federal Public Service will undergo an unprecedented demographic shift as thousands of "baby boomers" retire. For example, the Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada (APEX) recently conducted a survey on executives and their retirement intentions.
They found that 40% of executives fully intend to retire over the next five years, with 75% expected to leave within the next ten years. There is a similar age profile for middle managers, the traditional feeder group for executives. |
